Je mooie warme bruine ogen, je spontaneïteit, je humor en je mysterie die je voor mij geweest bent; ik heb er erg van genoten.

Today, there was a ripple in the "force"  / Richard Ashby (Friend and former colleague )
I am deeply saddened by the news I just received about my friend and former colleague, Go. My last memory of him was here in Texas at my house where we dined together, drank wine together and talked among other things about global politics, the sales effectiveness business and our mutual good fortune to be friends. Go was anything if not passionate about life in general and certain things in particular.  Those who know him well know this about him and are probably smiling through their tears right about now.

Go was gracious beyond any expectation.  When Laura and I were married on 7/23/05, not more than an hour before out ceremony that LaVon presided over, Laura received a most beautiful bouquet of yellow roses from Go that she held through our ceremony, our first dance as a married couple and throughout our most special evening.  He was able to touch us in such a personal way all the way from Brussels. He had that singular ability.

He was tour guide par excellence' when Laura and I traveled to Brussels to visit him.  We vividly remember the little out-of-the-way joint he took us to to feast on lobster and champaigne, and the tour of Brussels we enjoyed immensely even though it was the middle of the night.  Needless to say, Go touched our lives in very personal and special ways.

It is ironic that Go passed today as it is Laura's birthday.  Go would get the irony of this and smile or maybe even make some sick joke about it.  That was part of his persona and his charm.

Most of us are separated by an ocean and a continent from Go.  That's just geography...nothing more.  As for me, Go will live on in my memory as a wonderful friend.  I offer my deepest condolences to his loved ones and family.  I join you in mourning this profound loss. Close

Lieve vriend Weet je nog hoe je me zo gepassioneerd – zoals alleen jij dat kan – vertelde over jouw pelgrimstocht naar Santiago de Compostela; over je motivatie, over wat het met je deed, over de impact die het had op jouw leven. Dat verhaal liet me nooit los. En als ik vandaag “De Pelgrimstocht naar Santiago” van Paulo Coelho lees, lees ik jouw verhaal. Dank om het mij opnieuw te vertellen. Dank je dat ik een stukje mee mocht op jouw pad. Dat ik zeker ook “Les Particules Elémentaires” moest lezen, want dat dat bij jouw verhaal hoort, zei je nog. Dank je om er mij aan te herinneren. Het boek is besteld; zullen we’t straks samen lezen? Want jij en ik blijven toch resonerende deeltjes in dat grote universum. Dank je, lieve Go dat ik zo dicht bij je mocht zijn. Dank je, lieve vriend dat ik zo dicht bij je mag blijven. Et maintenant, spécialement pour toi... je te dessine un mouton.... ;) X Tanja Close

This email I received from Go last Thursday reminds me of what a light he was for me.  I always looked forward to seeing him because he was fun, provocatively mischevious, and would always share the world with me as he had seen and done so much more than I ever will.

….Planet earth has lost a delightfully, present and free-spirited person….but I remain a little more light hearted in this life because of him...

Gauthier, You were a great work collegue and friend. Who would have thought that last week we were in London together talking about life and aspirations. I so much enjoyed it when we could work, laugh and talk together. The trips were to look forward to.

You certainly were challenging, in a fine way. You - along with the colleagues of your generation - brought new oxygen into our company. I was desperately missing that oxygen and your kind of courage, although I wasn't fully aware of that at the time.

I will never forget how you witnessed about one of the apero-coachings at one of the PC's (monthly meetings). You told the group that we shouldn't behave so much as independents but as inter-dependents. You weren't the first one to try to get us more into team players, but those words certainly helped in throwing away some of my old mentality! Thanks for that!!
